Description:  Great action shot of SOU 4-8-2 #1482 kicking out a huge plume of smoke as it threads its passenger train through the curves near Doublasville, GA. This powerful loco was buiolt by Baldwin in April of 1919 and it lasted until October, 1952 when it was sold for scrap. Specs - serial #51731, 69" drivers, 27 x 30" cylinders, a 200 psi boiler pressure, weighed 327,000 pounds and exerted 53,900 lbs of tractive effort. The photo was taken by S.F. Lowe.

The loco was built by Baldwin in April of 1919 (serial #51731m class Ts-1). The loco lasted until being sold for scrap in October of 1952.
